Canada will hold its next election on September 20th, 2021.
Justice For All Canada has put forward our key human rights issues for the elections. We aim to remind the Government about Canada’s unmet obligations under international law.
We’ve asked major federal parties for their positions on these issues, and requested their support for human rights this election. Our questionnaire encourages candidates to explain how they’ll address these significant abuses occurring today.
Our organization advocates for victims of genocide living without deserved accountability or attention from global governments and media. Our campaigns work to raise awareness on such inequality facing Rohingyas, Uighur Muslims, Indian and Sri Lankan minorities, Kashmiris and other Indigenous groups.

Uighur Muslims Rights
- When forming government, will your Federal Cabinet declare the Chinese persecution of Uighurs as a Genocide (as recognized by the US and other democratic countries)?
- Will your Federal Party establish an independent office with the power to enforce laws and mechanisms to oversee and hold accountable the human rights violations of Canadian companies and corporations operating abroad?
- Will your federal party develop an asylum program to help Uighur Muslims find refuge in Canada and in participating humanitarian countries?
- Will your Federal Party address China’s extensive Uighur rights crimes in Parliament and at the UN, demand the closure of internment camps, sanction Canadian corporations and companies with links to the forced labour of Uighurs?
Kashmiri Rights
- Will your Federal Party end Canada’s alarming silence over India’s human rights violations in Kashmir, recognize the proven genocide of Kashmiris, and impose sanctions on Indian authorities responsible for crimes against humanity in the region?
- Will your Federal Party uphold Kashmiris as Indigenous owners of Kashmir land and water, and protect their claim to Kashmiri territory, regardless of colonial borders?
- Will your Federal Party work to restore Kashmir’s special status (eliminated by the Indian Government) and honour the rights that Kashmiris once had as a semi-autonomous people in India’s union of states?
Rohingya Rights
- Will your Federal Party urge Bangladesh to fulfil the fundamental human right of children's education by lifting restrictions on Rohingya refugee children’s ability to enroll in formal, accredited education, complete secondary education, and hold them in compliance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child?
- Will your Federal Party demand that Burma lift barriers to education access inside Rohingya camps and villages in Rakhine State, and urge Burma to accredit formal education in the Burmese curriculum for refugee children?
- Will your Federal Party make education a precondition to future aid to Bangladesh for Rohingya refugees?
Indian Minority Rights
- Will your Federal party condemn the discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the fascist rhetoric and hate speeches of government leaders delivered against Muslims and other minorities in India?
- Will your Federal party address the increase in mob lynching of Muslims, Dalits and other minorities, and lead recognize declare such mob lynchings as a crime against humanity under international law?
