Hindu Extremist Mobs, Police Terrorize Muslims Across India
April 12th, 2022
Justice For All Canada, a genocide prevention organization, expresses shock over new large-scale violence against Muslim minorities, their homes, and mosques across several states in India.
The organized attacks occurred during Ram Navami rallies, where Hindu extremist mobs were seen carrying swords with intention to disrupt peace.
Just some of the impacted regions include Gujrat, Karnataka, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Jharkhand. With Indian police present, mobs terrorized Muslims by destroying, burning and vandalizing house gates, vehicles and Muslim-owned properties.
A series of viral images and videos displayed bloodied Muslim men and women who were brutally beaten by both police and right-wing mob members.
A few statements from locals included:
“Suddenly 3-4 police jeeps came with a right-wing rally and attacked our houses, destroyed vehicles and jumped on the rooftop. They asked every name of person passing by if it was Muslim, they would beat [them].”
“Yesterday, I was returning… after performing namaz (prayer) & breaking my fast. I was frightened and started running when the police tried to catch me, they threw a stick at me.”
Thousands of Indo-Canadians are concerned for the safety of their loved ones in India due to such alarming signs of Muslim genocide, mass radicalisation, hate speech, and complete breakdown of law and order. Perpetrators are emboldened by police inaction, indicating tacit approval of the communal Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in government.
We call on all Canadians to use their voice by contacting Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Foreign Minister Melanie Joly, and their local MPs, encouraging them to speak out against targeted harassment and abuse.
