Justice For All Canada, a leading human rights advocacy organization, will convene a press conference on March 8th to highlight the urgent and dire situation faced by Palestinian women and girls in Gaza and the West Bank. The media event will feature Canadian advocates Nihad Jasser, Lama Alsafi, Monalisa Ghadban and Ganiyat Sadiq, who will address the pressing need for immediate action to address the escalating crisis severely impacting Palestinian women and girls amidst the Israeli siege and aggression.

Canada's Absence from ICJ Hearings is a Blow to Palestinian Justice

Justice For All Canada expresses deep concern over the Canadian government’s withdrawal from submitting oral arguments at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding Israel's prolonged occupation, annexation, and settlement in Palestinian territories. Amid increasing illegal settlements and settler violence, Canada’s decision not to participate in these hearings obstructs accountability for Israeli’s actions and sends a chilling message about its non-commitment to upholding international humanitarian law. 

Condemning Hate Speech and Incitement by the Israeli Consulate in Toronto

Justice For All Canada strongly condemns the Toronto Israeli consulate’s hateful response to a tweet from the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA), which merely pointed out the scale of civil society destruction in Gaza, as deeply troubling and unacceptable.

The consulate’s callous response served to legitimize the ongoing killings of Palestinians, 70% of whom are women and children, seemingly condoning their collective punishment. It also dismissed Israel’s attacks on vital civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, which are protected under international law. Such shocking language is wholly inappropriate for a diplomatic entity, which should uphold decorum and respect for human rights, rather than making irresponsible statements regarding a humanitarian crisis.

REPORT: Addressing Mass Incarceration, Ill-Treatment, and Weaponization of Emergency Prison Law for Palestinian Prisoners

This report outlines the alarming escalation of human rights violations against Palestinian prisoners within the Israeli prison system, including children, women, the elderly, and the disabled. Since October 7th, the enactment of emergency prison laws by the Israeli parliament has intensified arbitrary arrests, administrative detentions without formal charges, and systemic mistreatment of prisoners, including torture and enforced disappearances. Israel’s mass incarceration campaign has significantly increased and has led to a surge in detentions across Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Israel, subjecting detainees to deplorable conditions and denying them essential medical care.

REPORT: Critical Analysis of ICJ Order over Israeli Genocide in Occupied Palestine​

The following report presents a comprehensive analysis of the International Court of Justice (ICJ)'s provisional measures order from January 26th, 2024, regarding the Israeli military aggression in Gaza. It highlights that the ICJ recognized a plausible case for genocide in Gaza, and ordered several interim measures ahead of a full trial on the merits. Using a human rights standpoint, the report assesses implications for humanitarian aid and ceasefire initiatives, followed by urgent recommendations for action to the Government of Canada to advance peace and accountability in the region.​
