What is a policy memo?
A policy memo, short for memorandum, is a short document that explains an important issue in a clear and informative manner. Justice For All Canada’s policy memos outline key concerns related to our major human rights campaigns. They provide facts, applicable legal standards and include recommendations for the Canadian government.
These resources are intended for elected officials to provide them with relevant information, promote awareness and encourage them to take action against genocide.
Our memos also equip supporters with evidence-based research on policy issues and human rights violations. They can be emailed to government leaders, used when speaking with MPs, and are a tool to help stay informed about critical human rights concerns.

This loss of flexible funding has severely compromised frontline food, education and healthcare operations in Cox’s Bazar. We are urging the Canadian government to exempt the Rohingya humanitarian response from ongoing foreign aid retrenchments. Reversing these cuts is necessary to protect survivors and prevent catastrophic regional destabilization.
Deny Chief Mohan’s entry into Canada

This memo calls on the Canadian government to deny entry to Mohan Bhagwat, the Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist organization seeking to turn India into a “Hindu Rastra” (Hindu State) to the exclusion of Christians, Muslims and other religious minorities. Not only do we oppose Bhagwat’s visit, we are concerned about Canada’s deepening of economic ties with India absent human rights safeguards, lest Canada implicitly support India’s human rights violations.
